In
the Konrad collection has many worthwhile objects for restoration
that have been damaged because of the nature of the wood or during
transport. Instead of restoring them professionally, Vaago Weiland
uses the damaged articles and fits them into his overall work
of art . He provides the figurative art of the Asmat with an outside
metal skeleton, which
supports
and stabilizes the sculptures. Furthermore he forms missing segments
of the figures out of wax or other types of synthetics to demonstrate
the preservation. This aim of Weiland shows a reality that is only
partly
reached.
